Do any if you know whether there are local newspaper articles about the "local boys" that served in the Civil War? My G-Grand Uncle, Giles S. Williams, was killed in 1862 during the battle of Antietam, and his son, Oscar, was sent home to Burr Oak the following December where he died soon after from disease. I appreciate any information about local or county stories that might still be in existence. Thanks so much for your help. Bernadine Deckard
Hello, What a great idea to ask for this info.. I too have civil war boys, Willis MCKEEBY and Myron SULLIVAN, who served with the Michigan Engineers and Mechanics together and returned to the St Joseph area. It would be wonderful to know more about their service and their condition when they returned. Thank you for your time, Lynda Minter -----Original Message----- From: BMRRP@aol.com [mailto:BMRRP@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, April 30, 2003 8:10 PM To: MISTJOSE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MISTJOSE] Newspaper Articles about local Civil War participants?
