    3. Sarah Alice Davis, b. Aug. 25, 1835 in White Pigeon, St. Joseph County, Michigan. Died Feb. 10, 1919 in Maryville, Nodaway County, Missouri. She married first John Hamm who died in Leon, Iowa. She then married his brother, Mason "Doc" Hamm in 1872. She and John had 4 children, Angeline, Charles A., Kate, Hattie. I think she had two children by Mason, Amry and Burtis. Sarah and Mason are both buried in Maryville, Missouri. I am looking for the parents and family of Sarah Alice Davis and her husbands, John and Mason Hamm. Thank you for any help. Linda

    3. I'm looking for leads to PETER NICHOL, husband of LOIS ANNE MOORE. He was a Scotsman with a heavy accent according to family history. He and Lois Anne were likely married in Ontario. His daughter, Elizabeth Nichols, who was born in Quebec, married William Henry Beltz in Trempeleau, Wisconsin in 1868. Lois Anne died there as did three of their children. Peter and Lois's other children were William Buell Nichols, b. 1848 in Toronto; Annie, b. 1849, d. 1866; Thomas, b.1850, d. 1866; Elizabeth, b. 1852 in Quebec, d. 1918 in Brownsville, MN; Lois A., b. 1854; Isabelle, b. 1857 in Illinois; Mary, b. 1860 in Illinois; Agnes, b. 1862 in Illinois; Henry, b. 1865; and Carrie M., died in Trempeleau, WI. Family legend says after his wife and some children died in Trempeleau, he moved on to Illinois with the rest of his family. We are not sure when and where he was born or died. Does he fit into your Nichol/Nichols family? Linda romero89@earthlink.net

    3. I am sorry, I don't have any information on Harold Nichols at this time. All I know is that he was married to my father's sister, Marion Stull. She was born in Colon, Michigan. They are both deceased and buried in the Lakeside Cemetery in Colon, Michigan. They did live in Detroit, but I don't know when. I am sorry I could not help you. I am having a hard time finding information on my father's side of the family. If I find out more information I will pass it on. ----- Original Message ----- From: <kehitt@sbcglobal.net> To: <MISTJOSE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 29, 2003 12:11 PM Subject: [MISTJOSE] Re: Leonidas Cemeteries - phone number please! > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JIB.2ACI/12483.1.1.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Do you have any info on Harold Nichols? 3. I know that the cemetery office in Sturgis, MI. has a book with a list of Michigan Cemeteries but it is not online. 269-659-7245 is the phone number. Also, you can go to www.findagrave.com and they have a list of most of the ST. Joseph Co. cemeteries. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marty" <Marty-01@webtv.net> To: <MISTJOSE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 29, 2003 4:20 PM Subject: [MISTJOSE] Cemetery Books > Hi, could some kind soul tell me where I might be able to obtain the > volumes of the Cemeteries in Saint Joseph County, Michigan? I am researching Rices in Leonidas and other towns in the county. William L Rice 1850-1933 and his wife Emily Carson or Corson Rice lived in Leonidas with their children, (grandson Leon Samuel Rice married Flossie Nichols in 1924 - is she one of yours?). Also in the county were Williams siblings Mary Rice, Sarah Rice Bondeman and perhaps Alfred Rice. William's children married a Hubbard, Etheridge, McClish, Brigham and a Johnson, that I know of. Let me know if you have anything on Leon and Flossie.

In the genealogy department of the Three Rivers library, there is a book that lists the information found on gravestones in the Leonidas Cemetary. I don't have the name of it but I think it's just called the St. Joseph County Cemetary book. They have a part time volunteer that works in that department that can do limited searches. I am researching the Nichols, Watkins, Ferris, and Hunt families that lived there from 1835 to 1940s.
