Surviving are two sisters, Hazel ENGLE and Mrs. Edward (Florence) EVERHART, both of Sturgis and a niece, Mrs. Betty HILBERT, Coldwater. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Friends may call at the Foglesong Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Monday. Services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Alexis Martini officiating. Mr. EAGAN was born in Kalamazoo Sept. 18, 1912, a son of J. Charles and Edna F. (DeCOURSEY) EAGAN and had been a Sturgis resident since 1937. On Dec. 27, 1941, he was married to Mary Lee SHELDON in Sturgis. Mr. EAGAN was a member of the Sturgis Police Department from 1937-41, and retired from employment with the Michigan Liquor Control Commission of Lansing March 5, 1978 after 32 years. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council No. 2508, and a life member of BPOE Lodge No. 1381. He served with the 32nd Division of the Army in Australia and with the Red Arrow Division in Memphis during World War II. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Timothy and Charles EAGAN, both of Sturgis; two granddaughters, Nicole MILLER, Sturgis, and Lee Ann EAGAN, Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Richard J. EAGAN, Sturgis; an aunt, Mrs. Katherine SOLLIS, Sturgis; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Isabel HUSS, Sturgis; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward E. EAGAN, July 12, 1954. Friends may call at the Foglesong Funeral Home beginning Friday morning. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Holy Angels Catholic Church at 11 a.m., Saturday, with Rev. John E. Warner officiating. Burial will take place in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7 p.m. Friday. END

She was preceded in death by one sister, Isabel HUSS; and one brother, Charles SHELDON Jr. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. The Funeral Mass is at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sturgis, with the Rev. James Pearl officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Sturgis. FULLRIEDE Jr., age 84, of Constantine, Mich., died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at the Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers. He was born Aug. 29, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., a son of Fred and Gertrude (KINDLER) FULLRIEDE, Sr. On Oct. 14, 1939, he married Evelyn BERNDT in Chicago, Ill. Fred worked in the Ice&Coal Business with his father in Chicago and later operated his farm in Constantine. He then went to work for Constantine Schools as a custodian and bus driver, retiring in 1980 after 25 years of employment. He was a member of the Constantine Grange since 1946 and the St. Joseph County Grange Fair board for many years. He was also a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Constantine, where he served as custodian. Fred is survived by his wife Evelyn, Constantine; five daughters, Sandra and Randy ESTES of South Haven, Julie LINN, Charlene and Ron LEACH, Shelley and Mark SLENTZ, all of Three Rives, and Cindy FULLRIEDE and Ken ANDREWS, Constantine; nine grandchildren, Ron (Jacquie) LUTZ, Brian (Kathy) LUTZ, Jeff (Christy) LINN, Ken (Lisa Coney) LINN, Kris (Shelly) LEACH, Trent (Shellie) LEACH, Jason, (Dierdra) LEACH, Aubrey DERDA and Elizabeth SLENTZ; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Herman (Margaret) FULLRIEDE, Coloma; a sister, Doris (Charles) DUNCOMBE, Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Her early life was spent in Sturgis until 1991 when she moved to Arizona. She was employed as a certified nurse assistant in the Alzheimer’s unit at Missouri River Manor in Great Falls and planned to become a registered nurse. Cheryl had also been employed by the Life Uniform Co. in Glendale. She had attended the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis, enjoyed reading and was a devoted fan of Reba McEntire. Surviving are; her mother, Sue FRY, of Sturgis; three sisters, her triplet, Casey Jo FRY of Phoenix, Ariz., Michele S. FRY, serving in the U.S. Navy and stationed in Kamiseya, Japan, and Hilary and the Rev. Timothy SINGLETON of Rudyard, Mont.; two nephews, Justin David and Nicholas Arthur SINGLETON; grandfather, Milan COBBS, Sturgis and two aunts, Sally BURNHAM and Norma COBBS, both of Sturgis. Preceding her in death were her other triplets, Cristy Lynn FRY and grandmother, Barbara COBBS. Friends and relatives may call after 6 p.m. Monday at the Hackman-Foglesong Funeral Home of Sturgis, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services celebrating the life of Cheryl Kay FRY will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis. The Rev. Robert Keim and the Rev. Timothy SINGLETON will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak. Grace had been a Sturgis resident since, 1936, coming from Fort Wayne. On Dec. 15, 1928, she married Newell A. FRANKS in Wawaka, Ind. She was a homemaker and dedicated wife and mother. Grace was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sturgis Kiwanaqueens, Pocahontas Temple #121 Pythian Sisters, Order of Eastern Star Olive Branch #2, Sturgis Hospital Medical Scholarship Guild, Sturgis Woman’s Club, the Klinger Lake Country Club, numerous bridge clubs, and she and her husband were past members of the Friendly Circle Dance Club. Grace loved playing cards, especially bridge and solitaire and working in her flower gardens. The family would like to take this opportunity to publicly extend their heartfelt thanks to Rosetta Carpenter for her never ending caring, love and dedication to Grace and the entire family. Grace is survived by; her loving husband of 73 years, Newell; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard N. and Jean FRANKS of Sun City, Ariz., Lawrence A. Josiah was my ggg grandfather. He moved to Burr Oak in about 1834. He married Rachel Hutchinson in 1836, and then married again ( I assume Rachel died) around 1850ish to Hannah Thompson. Josiah and Rachel had 2 daughters, Harriet & Rosa Jane. Family legend says they had 4 sons, all of whom died in the civil war. Is there a newspaper in Colon, MI? Was there one in 1949? My grandfather celebrated his 80th birthday in 1949 and there was a big party for him at the school. He was Joseph Stull and worked many years at the school as the janitor. I would like to see if I can find a copy of a newspaper article.

Hello, What a great idea to ask for this info.. I too have civil war boys, Willis MCKEEBY and Myron SULLIVAN, who served with the Michigan Engineers and Mechanics together and returned to the St Joseph area. It would be wonderful to know more about their service and their condition when they returned. Evelyn was a graduate of Bur Oak High School and Western Michigan University where she received her teaching certificate. She then went on to teach 36 ½ years, the last 25 years in the Bronson Area Public Schools. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bronson, and the Michigan Education Association, and she enjoyed gardening, traveling and going out to eat. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Roger TALICH of Littleton, Colo., nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, two sisters and five brothers. Friends and relatives may call after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Rosenberg-Schipper Funeral Home Ltd. of Sturgis where the family will receive friends from 3:30-9 p.m. Religious services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev.
