EASH, 84, 409 S. Walnut St., LaGrange, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Fairview Medical Facility in Centreville, Mich. she had been ill three years. She was born in LaGrange County, Nov. 9, 1884. She was the widow of Samuel R. EASH, who died in 1961. They were married July 11, 1930, in Noble County, Ind. Mrs. EASH had lived in the LaGrange community all her life. Her parents were Monroe Pierce and Margaret (BARNES) PIERCE. Surviving are four sons, Donald SAMS of LaGrange, Dennis SAMS and Charles SAMS of Centreville, and Russell SAMS of Sturgis; two daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Marie) SHEARS, Centreville, and Mrs. Paul (Ella) HIGH, Hudson, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Eldo PIERCE, Wolcottville; a sister, Mrs. Amanda BOGGS of California; two step-sons, Willis EASH of California and Clarence EASH, Marshall, Mich.; and four step-daughters, Mrs. Pauline GARRISON of California; Mrs. Mae SHAVER and Mrs. Clara COURTWRIGHT of Battle Creek, Mich.; and Mrs. Pearl HART, Geneva, Ind. Mrs. EASH was a member of the LaGrange Church of God. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in he Frurip Funeral Home. The Rev. Lawrence J. Beaver, retired, will officiate. Burial will be made in Greenwood Cemetery. END

He was a lifelong resident of LaGrange County. He was a retired welder from Spreuer & Son, LaGrange. He also worked in the maintenance department at the LaGrange Hospital. He was a member of he Lakeview United Methodist Church, LaGrange. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Paul (RoyAnn) STEIDER, LaGrange, Diane MILLER, Sugarcreek, Ohio, and Susanna SCOTT, LaGrange; one son, Larry EASH, Dunedin, Fla.; one sister, Betty EASH, Pasadena, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Gary EASH; his parents and his wife. Relatives and friends may call from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, LaGrange, where services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Joe Miller and the Rev. Also surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Vernon (Ada) MILLER, Anna EASH and Katie EASH, all of Shipshewana, Mrs. Samuel (Mabel) GRABER of Millersburg and Mrs. Raymond (Edna) SCHROCK of Jessup, Ga.; two brothers, Freeman of Shipshewana and Mahlon of Martinsburg, Ohio; and two sons, Dwayne Jay of San Diego, Calif., and Bryan Ray at home. Funeral services were held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the North Goshen Mennonite Church with the Rev. Harvey Chupp, the Rev. Russell Krabill and the Rev. Darrell Hostetler officiating. He was born Feb. 15, l913, in Nottawa Township, a son of the late Lawrence and Ada E. (Parker) Marvin. Jake had lived at his present address all of his life and was a l932 graduate of Mendon High School. On April 27, l946, he married Eleanor M. Pagels in Colon. Early in life Jake had farmed and worked as a carpenter, and later he worked for the former Transogram Company of Sturgis, retiring in l975 after 21 years of employment. He was a membere of the Colon Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon, sang in the choir, was Sunday School superintendent, and was a Sunday School teacher. Surving are; his wife, Eleanor M. Marvin; a daughter, Susan and Ken Allabach of Sturgis; two sons, Larry and Batty Marvin of Peoria, Ariz., and Bruce and Donna Marvin of Sturgis, a daughter-in-law, Thelma and George Goss of Sturgis; 11 grandchildren and ll great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Allen F. Marvin in l981; four sisters, Flora Ambs, Ila Walters, Ruth Huff and Ethel Marvin; and four brothers; Edward, Ryald G., John W., and Walter H. Marvin. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Schipper Funeral Home Ltd. of Colon, where services celebrating the life of Frederick "Jake" Marvin will be at 11 a.m. Saturday: Rev. Robert N. Baxter of the Colon Baptist Church and Rev. George Goss of Sturgis will officiate. Burial will follow at Nottawa Cemetery, Nottawa. If desired, the family suggests memorials be mad in memory of Jake to the Colon Baptist Church or the charity of one's choice.

In 1935, he was married to Doris IRELAND in Angola, Ind. Mr. EARLY had owned the Ford Automobile Agency in Bronson. He was last employed as and automobile salesman in Coldwater. Mr. EARLY was a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church and the United Commercial Travelers. Surviving are his widow; three sons, Wiley EARLY of Southgate; Jack of Manchester, Mass., and Robert In California; one step-daughter, Delores FITCH of Bronson; one stepson, John GLADSTONE, Bronson; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roland EARLY of Milan. One son and a sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held in St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in Bronson at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Stanley Nowakowski will officiate. Burial will take place in Bronson Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday) in the Kubasiak Funeral home, where friends may call. END

Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Ralph (June) DeLONG, Three Rivers, Mrs. Paul (Joyce) COOLEY, South Africa, Mrs. Robert (Karen) MOLBY, Elkhart, Ind., and Mrs. Kenneth (Terry) SIMMONS, Davisburg; three sons, Roger EARL, Douglas, Ariz., Gerald EARL, Three Rivers, and Richard EARL, Sturgis; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three bothers, George, Kenneth and Paul CHAMBERLAIN; and one infant son. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Halverson Chapel, Three Rivers.
