He was born March 22, 1928, in LaGrange County, a son of Frank and Beatrice (BERTRAM) ELLIOTT. On Oct. 16, 1949, he married Reta Anne BOOTH, in Brighton. He was a retired State Farm Insurance agent with 33 years of service and he was a lifelong LaGrange resident. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was a life member of he LaGrange American Legion Post 215 and the Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the LaGrange Moose Lodge 1351, the meridian Sun Lodge 76 F&AM, LaGrange, and the Mount Zion Lutheran Church, LaGrange. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. LeLand (Deborah) A. WICKEY, Centreville, Mich., and Mrs. William (Teresa) M. BROWN, Churubusco; two sons, William BOOTH ELLIOTT, LaOtto, and Bert L. He had lived in Kalamazoo the past 30 years, and for the last 18 years he had spent his summers in Mackinaw City. He retired from the Kalamazoo Stove Co. a few years ago, and at the time of his death he and his wife owned and operated the Whispering Waters Cabins, in Wilderness State Park between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan. He was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene in Kalamazoo. Surviving are the widow, June; one foster granddaughter, Mrs. Jacquelyn K. RENTFROW of Bristol, Ind.; one uncle, G.D. ELLIOTT of Sturgis and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Langeland Portage Chapel, with the Rev. Earl Hardyman officiating.
