Well, once again, I sent an email before I completely thought my sentence through... teach me to answer an email early in the morning... For all of you who were incensed that I didn't think the Current Wave newspaper in Eminence in Shannon County (or any weekly small town newspaper) would be a good source of gen. info.. let me assure you, yes, I know about the weddings, obits, etc., that one generally gets from a newspaper. What I should have continued with my sentence was, I was unaware of a weekly column or weekly article by the Gen. society...doesn't mean it's not there, just means that I am unaware of it. And, YES, I know that old newspapers contain a massive amount of gold for the family historian... Once again, I was thinking on the line of the queries from historians, historical tidbits, ("100 years ago" news items, etc) or any articles/announcements along that line that I know are in other newspapers... once again, doesn't mean it's not there, just means I was unaware of it and was anxious to see if that was the case. It was obvious that I offended several of you, and I'm sorry you read something in my message that was not intended. Sorry if I offended ANYBODY.. For those of you who were alot nicer and helpful with your input, thank you for your help. I do appreciate it. So back to my original thought, IS there a gen. society column in the paper each week? or should I contact my relatives who work for the paper to find that answer? Lanita
