Hi, A friend of mine told me this on ordering birth and death certificates for MO: "Death Records start January 1, 1910 (Records they release) in Jefferson City, MO. Address is: Missouri Department of Health Bureau of Vital Records P.O. Box 570 Jefferson City, MO 65102-0570 Cost is $ 10.00-Fee must accompany request, check-Money Order payable to Missouri Department of Health. They only check the year you give them, if not found, they still keep your money. Divorce records available, free if you go in on these and know county where divorcee was obtained. All rest costs, like everything else. They also want to know the relationship to deceased, if recent, on Birth Certificates, only direct family members can obtain these! Plus they request for a lot of death certificates to obtain who the wife was, etc., on family members." Another friend who has done this told us: "write and request a form and they will send you some and you can fill them out and mail them to the above address...I just received my forms and have been told it may take 3 or 4 weeks to get them back.. You can pay by credit card they said and you would be charged a one time fee, I believe it was $4.50...
