Hi I am looking for the marriage or a census record for my great grandmother, Martha Jane "Mattie" HOLLINGSHAD (or other creative spellings). She came with her family to Ozark and Howell Counties in Mo in about 1867. She married somewhere in MO around 1879 - 1881. The man's name was supposed to have been Jim Davis. I was told he was a doctor. He left her when she was still pregnant with their child who was listed as being born in MO. The child's name was Minnie B. DAVIS. Jim Davis was listed as being born in AR. I have looked in the soundex for 1880 but because Minnie wasn't born until 1881 there is not listing for them. I did a person by person search in Howell, Ozark, and Douglas counties without success. I also looked with Martha Jane HOLLINGSHAD DAVIS' parents and she wasn't living with them. I can't imagine where else a woman with a new born baby would go in 1881 except maybe to work in another person's home. I am stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
