Something on one of the lists reminds me of an obstacle reported in Julius Hunter's book, Honey Island. He and his sister went ancestor hunting in Mississippi. At a courthouse, the book that they needed was on a high shelf. The clerk said that surely they did not want to see anything in that old book, and that surely he did not want to brinig it down from way up there. But they explained that they had come all the way from St. Louis and Chicago?. He got the book and they and found their material.
