Rice may be the son of our William Rice and Mary Owsley of Claiborne County, TN. Need info on family of Samuel Laffle Rice born December 30, 1802. This particular John Rice may have gone up to Hardin County, KY before pushing off to Missouri. Samuel Rice was living next to Seth Botts in 1850 Linn County, MO census, and an "M" Rice was on 1840 Howard County census near the Botts family.
