Hello, am trying to make connections to those families, esp. the CURNELL line. My husband David E. Arnette is kin to Lucretia CURNELL MIZNER thru David's mother Marcheta Ann CURNELL. Believe that Marcheta's father John Wesley CURNELL was kin as an aunt to Lucretia. Would love to hear from a CURNELL relative. Marcheta told me that she remember playing with some MIZNER children. Am trying to trace Albert Wesley CURNELLs line. Anything appreciated. Believe that Lucretia Emeretta and Albert were siblings. Carole Beth Arnette San Antonio, TX nautilus@ev1.net
Hi, I'm new to this list. Looking for information about my grandfather, Ralph Robert Barnes. He was married (1) to Hazel sometime around 1930. They had 3 daughters. He married (2) Ivella Stewart Foulk about 1945. Together they adopted a boy and named him Ralph Jr. (he was a teenager at the time). Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanx. Cheryl
Hi, Judy Smith Your response to my rootsweb.com posting. You ask if I was related to Martin Duncan, died Roberson Co., TN. I have not researched but one Martin Duncan that is: Martin Duncan, b. c1851 Gentry Co., MO son of John S. Duncan and Mary Langdon Duncan. He was my grand Uncle. Martin Duncan, b. c1759 Culpeper Co., VA son of Benjamin Duncan, died c1826 Robertson Co., TN, was the son of Benjamin Duncan and my 2nd cousin 4 times removed. Our common ancestor was William Duncan the Elder. I have no additional information. Martin Duncan, b. c.1759 Culpeper Co., VA son of John Duncan and Rachel Dickey Duncan my 1st cousin 5 times removed. Our common anteater was William Duncan the Elder. I have no additional information. Hope this little bit might help you, Bill Mills milsgene@iocc.com.
Looking for my gg grandfather, Robert White born 1825 in Virginia and married Sina Perkins Branson born October 19, 1835, in Gasconade County, Missouri. They were married September 19, 1856 in Gasconade County, and all of their children were born in Missouri, county unknown. By 1880 they had moved to Jackson County, Arkansas and was the last time I have been able to find them. Thanks in advance for any information you might be able to send me. Don't waste your time buying the Ancestry.com WWII CD. The search functions don't work properly either. No Johnsons either. **There is some good news! You can access Missouri World War II casuality lists for FREE at: http://www.accessgenealogy.com/worldwar/missouri/index.htm Wow! Even includes serial numbers that are crucial in obtaining records from the National Personnell Records Center. We can forget about the above Martin Duncan, he was not in the 1880 Census.
The Martin Duncans in TN were not born in MO nor were they the rigth age to be son of John C, even if one was the son of John and Mary Duncan. I do not know who the parents of John S. Duncan born in KY 1815-20. My daughter search for his mariage Licenxe In the Court House in Lincoln Co., KY but to no avail. Thanks for trying to help. Bill Mills milsgene@iocc.com
Anyone get the new Ancestry World War II/Korea Overseas Internment CD ? I have it and I found an apparently big flaw. The CD includes no common surnames like Williams, Smith, and Jones. But when I do a search on an uncommon name in my family tree such as "Luce", it turns up 17 records. While this probably is correct for Luce, the more common surnames should number in the hundreds. Anyone else have problems with this CD ? It is a big disappointment, even for the $10 it sold for. Scott Williams Florissant, Mo. Hi, Missouri. Looking for any record of Arthur Alexander, born 21 Oct 1898 apparently near Labelle MO, second child of Charles E. and Lucy Zook Alexander. Arthur had an older sister, Naomi, born 27 Nov 1883 in Morgan Co IL, died 10 Jan 1978 in Hobart OK. This family had Alexander connections in Hancock Co IL, Zook connections in Morgan Co and also Chariton Co MO. Have no record of Arthur's existence past 1920 in Hobart OK when he married Beulah Mae Slater. They were divorced in the 1930s. Any suggestions or info appreciated. Willing to exchange info with any "cousins" too. Thanks for your help. Kellie Reeve Robinson
My ex husband's great grandmother [my children's gg grandmother] was born (if 1920 census is correct-listed as age 43) in 1876 in Missouri. On the 1920 census it states that both her parents were born in Illinois. Her name was Winnie Halford. I have no record of her after 1920. The first husband we are aware of was Lee Warren, married prior to 1901. Winnie was living in Soper, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory (Oklahoma) by Feb 1901. Her next husband was Howard McQueen. Winnie and Howard were living in Soper, Choctaw Co, Oklahoma in 1920. Essentially, I am looking for Halfords that moved from Illinois to Missouri prior to 1877. I hope to eventually be able to look on the 1880 census for Missouri or at least the soundex, but have no idea how many names will show up on a soundex for this year. Winnie would have been 3 or 4 in 1880--if census age is correct. Name possibly Winifred. If anyone knows of any such Halford families please contact me.
Ezra Fowler, bn 1843, Ohio and Mary Ann Fowler, bn 1845, Ohio. Married probably in 1867/68, as their first child was born in 1869. I have reason to think, even though they were both born in Ohio, that their parents may have come to Missouri after 1845. Their first two children, George W. Fowler, bn 1869, and Edward Fowler, bn 1870, were born in Linn County, Missouri. I have the 1870 census record on them. I am trying to find parents of Ezra Fowler and also Mary Ann, but do not know her maiden name. I believe the names Robert, Ezra, George, Edward, and William are family names used in successive families. Is anyone researching this family? Darline Fowler Smith [mailto:darline@gbronline.com]
I am looking for Mark A. Clark, b 1867 Tn. He was married to Faithy Huddeston, b 1876. He is said to have lived in Mo. He worked as an express messenger, he owned Belguim Horses, he also worked at, owned a sawmill. I would like to know when he lived in Mo., and any other information available. Thanks, Linda Harrison Clark __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Greetings - send holiday greetings for Easter, Passover http://greetings.yahoo.com/
Today is the day for the release of the 1930 Census. It was announced on CNN New yesterday I do not know when it will begin to appear in libraries. This is not an April Fools Joke. Wanda Ellis wellis@redriverok.com

I'm helping a friend research his family. His grandmother was supposedly a Cherokee Indian. How were Indians identified on the census (Tennessee)? I've seen "W" for White, "B" for Black and "M" for Mulatto but I've never seen any thing else listed. Thanks, Jim . . . James R. If they're counted as Indian, it should be "I". Don't expect to find her so listed, though. If her family was still in TN at that point, whether truly mixed blood or whether the Indian blood is all in someone's imagination, they'd likely have been doing their damnedest to pass as white. No benefit at that time to being identified as Indian, and a lot of downside. Full blood would have been more likely to be across the line in NC in what is now Qualla Rez.... --pig On 3/29/02 6:47 PM, <jrbakerjr@yahoo.com> shared this thought: > I'm helping a friend research his family.
