"Hello again!" Have been engaged in an on-going effort for a number of years now in trying to identify as many descendants of our BAIRD family as might be possible, down through 1920 or so, for the benefit of future generations of family researchers. Am thinking that the below Macon Co., MO family may well prove being that of Mary BAIRD and Oliver LEE, for whom I have searched for a very good while. Should any of you happen to recognize any of the family in the below register report, and be able to either confirm, refute, or supplement in any way, will be most appreciative of any and all assistance in this family effort. Please be forewarned that the below family composition is still very much in the speculative state, and does require some reconciliation for discrepancies in reported ages as found in the censuses. Descendants of Oliver P. LEE and Elizabeth BAIRD 1. Oliver P. LEE, born abt 1806 in , , NC He married on 1 Mar 1830 in , Hardin, KY Elizabeth BAIRD, born Est 1810/15 in , , KY, daughter of John BAIRD (Rev.) and Elizabeth AYDELOTT. Notes for Oliver P. LEE 1840 Macon Co., MO census, Jackson TWP, p 4. 1000011000000 _ 0210100000000. 1850 Macon Co., MO census, 52nd Dist., p 173. "Farmer". Wife Mary appears as age "30" in the 1850 census? Children of Oliver P. LEE and Elizabeth BAIRD were as follows: 2 i Mary Ann LEE, born abt 1833 in , , KY. 3 ii Frances LEE, born abt 1835 in , , KY. 4 iii John B. LEE, born abt 1836 in , , KY. 5 iv Elizabeth LEE, born abt 1838 in , , KY. 6 v Sarah C. LEE, born abt 1841 in , , KY. + 7 vi Annis LEE, born abt 1843 in , , KY. She married Amos LOUGHERY. 8 vii Larena LEE, born abt 1845 in , , KY. 9 viii William H. LEE, born abt 1848 in , , MO. He married Martha A. (---), born abt 1855 in , , OH. 1880 Macon Co., MO census, La Plata, p 431A. "Farming". Generation 2 7. Annis LEE (Oliver P.), born abt 1843 in , , KY. She married Amos LOUGHERY, born abt 1839 in , , PA. Notes for Amos LOUGHERY 1880 Macon Co., MO census, Jackson, p 337C. "Farmer". Children of Annis LEE and Amos LOUGHERY were as follows: 10 i Eddie LOUGHERY, born abt 1867 in , Macon, MO. 11 ii Lulu LOUGHERY, born abt 1872 in , Macon, MO. Keeping my fingers crossed that this all will eventually prove out! Thank you for any and all help and assistance you might lend in our family's search for "Immigrant Ancestors and their Descendants!" TTYL Craig "Always Looking for Cousins!"

Article taken from the Confederate Veteran Mag. dated 1926. { This is not my family , only post the articles.} J.J. MOORE, died at his home at Keytesville, Mo., and under the flag of the Confederacy he was laid to rest in the cemetery there. He had reached the age of 86 years. Comrade MOORE was born at Old Chariton, a thriving town that once existed in the southern part of the county, his father being the first white child born in that county. He spent all his life in Chariton County, with the exception of the time he was ion the army. He enlisted under Gen. STERLING PRICE, at Lexington, in 1861 and fought in the battles of Lexington, Mo., and Pea Ridge, Ark., was then transfered east of the Mississippi River, where he took part in every engagement fought by the First Missouri Brigade. At Vicksburg, he was blown up with the stronghold when Grant undermined the Southern forces, and his life was saved by a convenient brush pile on which he landed. He was wounded 3 times during the war, none of the wounds being serious. JIM MOORE, was married twice, first to MISS ELIZA REYNOLDS in 1871 and she left one son. His second wife was MISS ELIZA WOOD and six children were born to them. He was held in high respect by the people of his community, and his passing was widely deplored.
Is there anyone on this list who could get a copy of an obituary for me? I need the obituary for Henry Charles Brant, who died 1 May 1944. It would have appeared in the Tipton Times. I cannot get to Columbia to get a copy and would appreciate any help anyone can give me. I have written twice to this list and somehow have gotten lost in outer space. Thanks jackie --- Jacquelyn Brant --- jackie500@earthlink.net --- EarthLink: It's your Internet.

Any one on from Butler County to check marriage records for Isabel Johnson and unknown Lowery? am looking for information about Hiram Lowery, b Feb 24, 1837 d April 26 1902. He is buried in the Murrell Cemetery. He may be the father in law of Isabella Johnson Lowery. At the time of death of Andrew Johnson, her brother, she was living in Poplar Bluff, MO. Isabel Johnson was born about 1872. There would be too much difference in age for Hiram to be her husband but only a few clues as to what happen to my great aunt is this: "Clay County Courier Friday March 11, 1927 Aged Richwood Farmer Passed Away Tuesday. I've added the 1880 census for the entire city of Nevada, Missouri to my East Nevada site. I also have the 1900, 1910 and 1920 on there for East Nevada (Ward Five).
