    3. Yes, this is the airman whose remains were just found near his fighter plane that crashed in France near the end of the war. Can we find his family in case his survivors havent read the paper? The article does not show his address, or state he was from, would someone know the family? Duane, a former air force member.

    3. Hi Lanita, On my website for Shannon Co. I have been putting up some Obits which Ona Fern Warren has sent to me. I called the "Current Wave" and asked permission to post these wonderful tidbits. I also have posted their subscription info which I will gladly share for the benifit of those people who are interested. It is located at this url and has the different price rates listed: http://www.rootsweb.com/~moshanno/Newspapers.htm You may access the websites main page listed below for her obituary links. Also if you will look under Ozark Bookshop you will find several books with Genealogical information. I hope this will help some of you. 3. "The Current Wave" is the weekly newspaper published at Eminence, Shannon County, MO. Since I have an aunt that writes a couple of columns for it as she has done for 30 years, I'm not sure how the other other person thought it can be used for ancestor research. It's not online. I'd be interested in hearing any additional info. Lanita Sconce Miller Wichita

    2. Bob, On 22-Feb-2001, you made a comment abt "The Current Wave". Please elaborate for those of us who haven't a clue what it means. I gathered it was some kind of publication. Is that true? Why or why not would it be useful in ancestor researching? Can it be accessed and if so how? 2. Hello friends - can anyone help this lady? Please reply to: Charlene Swan [email protected] I have been trying to find the grave sight of William Harrison Barnes who died in Gentry Co., MO 5 Nov 1883. I have tried to confirm his death information with no luck. The county courthouse burned down in 1884 and all records were lost. Do you have any information on William and his wife Mary Dement. They were living with their son A. (Alfred) L. Barnes in Miller Township in the 1883 census. I'd addreciate whatever help you can give. Charlene Swan [email protected]

    3. Need a death/cemetery record for : WILLIAM WILEY BAKER, born 1853, died 1912, location unknown. He lived in Nevada, Vernon Co., but did not die there. He was a railroader. Any help appreciated. Death records were supposed to be kept by the state at that time, but very few records were reported to them in the first few years that they kept them. They don't have this one. I've been looking for it for 20 years. Jim James R. 3. Dear List, I am still looking for family information on the above surnames. All found in Joplin, Mo area and Baxter Springs. A little trivia for the genealogy ghosts. I just moved to the Joplin area a year ago and a week ago I went the gen library and pulled one family members birth announcement of 1902. It stated they had had a baby girl on such and such streets. That is where I live now. Another thing is that I had never seen my fathers obit ( JACK DYKE BRITTAIN b: 1918 Joplin d: 1974 Montana). I received a copy about 6 months ago and it said "and daughter Vikki Brittain of Joplin, Mo"......yes, I think I was meant to be here and to be doing a study of my family history. Looking for BRITTAIN / ADAMS / PAUL / JENNINGS / STUSSY / HAYNES / MACKINDER. Hi Ms Piggy, good to see you back.
