    3. Candice and Bill, A.S.N. is the acronym for Army Serial Number. It's fine for an ID bracelet but isn't/wasn't used on dog tags. The 8 digit number is indeed the enlisted serial number. Officers SNs were different and shorter. I can't imagine what the letter A after the SN could be for. I never saw an ASN like that and I worked with enlisted military personnel records for a while. You're right about the dates and the tetanus shots. 2. This a somewhat corrected (for clarity) version of a msg posted earlier and posting to additional lists. Hoegenemeyer Well I dont think this will come out the way I laid it out. But at least I tried. But you will have the info. I have not heared from Beth Sharp abt this couple. Beth is a new found cousin of mine and she knows something abt the Lawson family . Which is one of my Riddle links. This marriage certificate was sent to me by another proable cousin. But until we can get Beth to contact us we cant do much in developing the actual link. Gerald we believe this is part of the Nettie Lawson family. Which is the one whom married my kin James William Riddle and also the George Lawson whom married my Ggmo after my my Ggfa John Wesley Riddle died. These Riddles and Lawson's are from one of the following area's of Missouri. Daviess County, Caldwell County and Livingston County. I dont have enough info yet to tell me for certain what county they were from (the Lawsons). These Lawson's could also possiablely link the too Lawson's on my Brookshier side But we dont think it's likely sofar. My Riddle's are Caldwell Co., and Livingston County Missouri. 3. Dear Anna (in T-town) and Folks, Traci Wilson Kleekamp (on this list, and founder of African Americans in Missouri research website) and I have been comparing our MO family history notes for almost 2 years! We are both researching CENTRAL MO including COOPER and nearby counties - BOONE, MONITEAU (city of Tipton), etc. We must be getting warm, and must have connections to someone else's families. Both of ours are African American and mixed race or "cross race"* family connections, including enslaved ancestor families and slaveholding families. * (See my website -- "American Cross Race Gen" on rootsweb: www.rootsweb.com/~genrace/genrace.index.htm ) Among her surnames, Traci has CRUMP; I have NICHOLS. Thanks to Sandra Freeman's tip, yesterday I checked and found data online (ancestry.com) for a CRUMP - NICHOLS marriage, in BOONE County MO, December 10, 1865. John H. CRUMP married to Fannie T. NICHOLS 10 Dec 1865 - Boone County MO Were they White or African American? I have FANNIE NICHOLS WILSON in my Leavenworth KS Family. I have another marriage (below) or permanent conjugal relationship -- since enslaved people could not legally marry. EDWARD MILLER and PRISCILLA YANCEY MILLER (both Black). Listed with 4? children in 1880 LEAVENWORTH KS Census. Leavenworth KS is next to KANSAS CITY, MO. I had the census details, but computer crashed; I have hard copy here somewhere. Census data lists BOTH ADULTS BORN IN MO; oldest child (a son) also born in MO, before 1865. Other children born in KS. Edward Miller was somewhat older than Priscilla Yancey Miller. Their daughter, VIOLA MILLER (NICHOLS), was born Leavenworth - August 1st, 1875. This was my Greatgrandmother whom I knew. Viola Miller is listed later in several Leavenworth City Directories before and after her marriage to REUBEN NICHOLS (around 1900). These are my clues. Where might I find death or other records for Edward and Priscilla YANCEY MILLER, in MO or elsewhere? Do Traci and I have a connection? Both of us are happy to share info, and appreciate any helpful details/clues other folks will share to trace MO slavery records (in courthouses, etc.) and other families connected to ours. Thank you folks. 2. Theresa Rogers Griffiths
    3. Hi Everyone, I really need your help! If you have time please read this. My Ggrandmother died in Ark. aprox 1918? she was in her very earlier twenties. She is from MO.somewhere. :( Ark. can't find her death certificate etc. All I know is where she's buried at in Ark. My grandmother ( her daughter ) was about three yrs old when she died so all info on her back then was lost. My Ggrandmothers name is Minnie Elzora LANE. She had a brother named William Washington LANE. Their Fathers name is William Henry LANE. The children were born later 1880's. I can't find a census on the Internet for a full state in the years 1890,1900 and 1910. I figure with that I could find the father and the children listed. I don't know what their mothers name is, I was also told that the father remarried because the mother had died. Yes, I've been on and still on a LANE surname list. My grandmother used to say that the father William Henry Lane was either from or lived in a place that sounded like.... Harm, Har-rum , MO. Then a friend of mine said one day on the T.V. they were talking about a town or something that to her sounded like the Harm etc. I was talking about but she couldn't catch it. She didn't know if it was in St.Louis or around that area they were talking about. Willam Washington LANE did live in MO. He died in 1962. I don't know when he ever moved to St.Louis. He was married in Memphis,TN. to Marcella Janette in 1937. This was her second marriage and they had no children together. Please if you can help in any way I really need your help. If you know of a web site that has full census for those years or anything please let me know. I have been trying to find any info I'm looking so hard I'm geting brain dead or it all know what I mean? It's so hard without knowing what county. And I don't have enough info on the LANE list I quess for it to ring a bell to anybody. Thank You for reading anyway. Theresa Rogers Griffiths P.O. Box 673 Morocco,Ind 47963
