Hi Mary, Were Thomas and Elizabeth the children of Simon and Elizabeth? Do you have a death certificate for Thomas? His death certificate will have his mother's maiden name. For a free lookup in the Texas Death Records, go the the Texas State Library and Archives Commission web page. Scroll to the bottom of the page and e-mail your request to the TSLAC staff. They'll tell you his name (as it appears on his death certificate), when he died and where he died (the county). Their response will also tell you how to get his death certificate.
