Dear Albert, The names you mentioned do not ring any bells...but I know very little about the Gibson side of the family... My great-greatgrandmother was Malverda Gibson, daughter of John P. and Margaret J. Williams Gibson. She married Will Merriweather, and Margaret Susanna Merriweather (later Porter) was my paternal greatgrandmother. I knew her when I was a young woman. Malverda had a sister named Elvira, who may have married a Tedford. Other siblings, according to U.S. Census Records (1860 and 1870, taken near Cherry Hill, Calhoun Co. and Black Hawk, Carroll Co.), were: Asberry Francis Susan Martha Mary Rebecca My family did not even know Malverda's family name until I started this genealogical search....According to family legend, Will Merriweather left Malverda when my greatgrandmother (Margaret, aka Maggie) was about six years old, along with Maggie's younger brother, Louis/Lewis Merriweather, and went with his family back to Arkansas, Tennessee, or Kentucky...no one knows for sure. Malverda later married Newell Autry Felts in 1894 in Yalobusha Co. Mr. Felts raised the two children, along with other children Malverda and Mr. Felts had after they were married. I do know that Margaret and John P. Gibson were married on January 3, 1843 in Monroe Co. (Aberdeen), and Joseph Gibson posted the bond and served as a witness...Joseph Gibson's will is filed in Monroe Co., but John P. Gibson was not an heir or a recipient of any proceeds of the estate.... Any help will be appreciated. Janice Branch Bivens Native Mississippian Albert H. Boyd wrote: > Hi Janice, > I am Albert Boyd.
