I am interested in locating what has happen to Mary Jane (Freeman) Byrd, born about 1860 and married Hiram Dawson Byrd of Greene County, MS. Hiram Dawson died in 1905 and Mary Jane (Freeman) Byrd could have possible married again and her married name would not be known. I sure would appreciate any information leading to what happened to Mary Jane. The boy was thought to have been born in MO. He was left by his mother in a train station in nw TN in Dec 1925 or Jan 1926 when his mother was supposedly returning to the University of Mississippi, perhaps from St Louis. The 1920 Census information for this male states he was b in MO and that both his parents were born in Mississippi. We believe that the adoptive parents gave the info that they thought was true for his birth parents. The infant boy was adopted and raised by a very loving older couple that had no children. He died when he was about 32. His only daughter is now hoping that there might be someone out there that knows of this story and could possibly help her identify her father's family. She realizes that her grandmother would now be 98 -104 years old and unlikely to be still living. Most grateful for any help.
