Parchman State prison is still in existence although the location is different from in the 1800's. There are prison yearbooks (that have a lot of info ) at the State Archives at Jackson MS and they date well back into the 1800s. If you call information for Parchman and call the prison you will find they have a prison historian office. I spoke to the gentlemen in charge of that office about 5 years ago, I do not remember his name. Hope this helps. Kathy
