    3. Harold, you wouldn't happen to research any Johnson families in Newton Co., would you? I am trying to find a brother of my great grandfather by the name of Benjamin Johnson. He was born about 1834/35 in Alabama and was on the 1850 Pontotoc Co. census with his parents and siblings. I believe he is the brother who left Pontotoc Co. with my great grandfather, Joseph Abner Johnson (Joab Johnson) in 1858/59 and went South to Neshoba Co.; however, I believe Benjamin did not remain in Neshoba Co., but may have gone on to Newton Co. It's just a guess, but I would really love to find him. The other siblings remained in Pontotoc Co./Lee Co. The parents of these two brothers were Randolph Johnson (born about 1800 in TN) and Elizabeth Ashby (born about 1800 in NC). Thanks for your response.
