In speaking of Newton County, my g-g-grandmother Martha Anderson Crutchfield married 2nd 1854 John Evans Watts b. 1805; d. 1875 Newton Co. He was a minister, Lawyer, State Rep., Judge, physician and had an earlier marriage to Elizabeth Ann [Betsy] Chapman who died sometime before the marriage of my grandmother. My g-g-grandmother was also a widow, previously married to Aloysius Michael Keegan d. 1838 Lawrence Co. He was also a Judge, represenative, Senator, Lawyer in the surrounding Counties. Do any of you connect to this family or know anything about them? In the 1860 census of Jasper County, there is no child, but in 1870 of the same County John and Martha Watts have listed a daughter Elizabeth M. age 15. I don't know if that was their daughter or not and don't know the date of death of Betsy Chapman. Thanks, Gladys
