    1. [MISSISSIPPI] Baumgartner
    2. SIN I signed on this channel at the right time - you must be some kind of local genealogy genius! Hope we can make some headway with my Billet relatives! Looking for Rudolph Baumgartner. There were 2 of them in MS. I'm wondering if mine is the one who served in the Confederate 5th Regiment Louisiana Infantry AND in 1870 and 1880 was living in Summit, Pike, MS with wife Helena and step-children last name Hakenjos and one child of his and Helena's - Adolph Baumgartner. Helena Baumgartner is buried in the Billet tomb in Metairie Cemetery, New Orleans. I believe her maiden name to be Kuntz but can't quite prove it. I don't know where Rudolph came from - Austria or Australia - census takers had great humor. I'm going with Austria or near there. In 1880 he is T. Rangardner, age 45, in 1870 he's Rudolph Baumgartner, age 36. Helena is 40 in 1870 and 53 in 1880. Tomb gives date of 1827 for birth and 1886 for death. She died in Summit, Pike, MS - her death is recorded in Louisiana. Think she was visiting relatives when she died. Any help is appreciated! Susan Billet in Kansas
