    3. Normally I do not reply to these type of posts, but for once I will. There are ways to get documents for less, and noone likes spending say $15.00 for records or more. But what some fail to understand, is that a lot of libraries do not have staff who are able or willing to do this kind of research for free. Nor do they have a budget to pay such folks for their time. A few volinteer Genealogists are willing to do look ups, and they set minimum standards and the price is reasonable for a lot of folks who cannot afford a trip of thousands of miles, as such would be the case if I had to go back home to look up the records. So libraries let you know as a conveniece to you that such folks are around to help. You are in no way obligated to contract for their services. It is totally up to you. Some of these Genealogists do this work for free, when they happen to be there doing their own look ups. So please consider all of this when you may need the services of a professional Genealogist to help you get pass a stumbling block. Remember, their time is valuable too, and some folks make a living that way. The cost is minimal when you consider it in this light.
