    2. He was likely furnished transportation to Vicksburg at the end of hostilities. The soldiers compiled service record will contain some data. Sometimes, but not always the following: place and date of capture, where he was received, age and physical description, any time spent in hospital and if he died it will usually have the grave number. The Compiled Service Records can be ordered from the MS Dept. of Archives and History for 15 bucks. The POW records in the MS D&H are very hard to search. Not alphabetized order but by date.
