    2. My experience with the Archives in Arkansas has been dismal. They don't serve the public--they don't even bother to answer letters. Why they even exist is beyond me. MS Archives may be slow, but at least they do respond and will send you any info they may find for a request. If you don't live in MS, you have to mail a check for $15.00 with your written request for information. In four-to-six weeks, they will send you a letter letting you know if they found anything, you send another check, and eventually receive your order. Last time I placed an order, it took almost four months. Thank God I live in Texas! Harriet
