I called my husband's cousin today and she is the Chancery Clerk in Dist. 2 of Bolivar Co. The one I mailed the request to was District 1. I asked her could I file a complaint with the Judge or commissioners. She said I would have to file with Circuit Clerk and she wouldn't do any thing. The fact of the matter is that this Circuit Clerk (not my husband's cousin) is under investigation for miss handling money. So that is a dead end. The clerk did not tell me that the charge is $10.00 for a look up. If they don't find it they still keep the $10.00. So they can sit there filing their nails all day long and not look up a thing and rake in the ten dollars duping a lot of people and causing them to search far and wide for years and it there in the court house all along. I am really disturbed with this. Even though the Clerk told me the copies were 50 cents she did not tell me that for her to search it would be an additional $10.00. Who wants to pay that when you are only going to get beat out of it? What can we do to avoid this practice?
