    3. Greetings, The Yalobusha County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, June 21st, at 2PM, in the Fellowship Hall of the United Methodist Church, Coffeeville, MS. The special guest speaker will be Dr. Donald C. Simmons, Director of the Mississippi Humanities Council. Dr. Simmons is an active scholar and writer with emphasis on history and political science. He is a columnist with the Mississippi Business Journal and was recently appointed to the Mississippi Press Association Education and Foundation Committee by the president of that association. Dr. Simmons is the author of "Confederate Settlements in British Honduras" which will be the topic of his presentation. The Society extends a general invitation to attend this and all meetings, and to become a member of this particular Society. The Society meets each month of the year, and publishes a quarterly journal entitled "Yalobusha Pioneer" which is mailed to each member. Queries in the Pioneer are free to members and cost just $3.00 each for non-members. Dues to the Society are $15.00 the calendar year, and may be mailed to the Society at P. O.
