Hello Helen, Thanks for the reply. We have never been able to find any info. on the parents and/or siblings for my g-grandfather, Rev./Dr. Jesse Lee(Leonidas?) WOOD who was reportedly b. 1839 in Duck Hill, Carroll (now Montgomery) Co., MS?. He first shows up on the 1860 Census in Dyer Co., TN at age 21 years m. to Mary ???? b. 1840 in TN. We have no idea how/when Jesse got to TN nor any info. about his family or him until he enlisted in Company I of the 7th Tenn. Cavalry Reg., U. S. Army at Huntingdon, Carroll Co., TN on Dec 27, 1863. Although my g-grandfather Jesse Lee WOOD, fought for the Union, he reportedly had three brothers (names unknown) who fought for the CSA. However, since we don't have any names, CSA units or locations, there isn't enough to go on with a name like WOOD. Since Jesse was born in MS, the brothers could have enlisted in the CSA in MS. The Surname BRAZEAL(sp?) is also supposedly in our ancestry. Below are the names of Jesse's children in the order of their birth. Perhaps they could have been named after a parent or sibling of Jesse and you may recognize a name in your WOOD/S line. Anna "Annie" WOOD (b. 1860 in TN) Nathaniel Clark WOOD (b. 1868 in TN) Charles Franklin WOOD (b. 1871 in TN) Eugene Vernon WOOD (b. 1875 in TN) Jesse L. Wood (b. 1878 in MO) Henry "Hal" Clay WOOD (b. 1880 in MO) Jessie Lee WOOD (Female) (b. 1890 in KS) Bessie M. WOOD (b. 1894 in OR) Thank you for any assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.
