I'm looking for information on this branch of the Harpers. My ggg-grandfather, Oliver Harper came to Leake Co., Mississippi about 1839 to 1840. He was a Justice of the Peace. He is listed on the Mississippi State and Federal Census from 1840-45. Nothing after 1845. Here are his children and their spouses. Edee Harper, b. 1820, Bibb Co., AL, m. George W. Lee, 1837, Bibb Co., AL Catherine Harper, b. 1822, Bibb Co., AL, m. James Whittington, d. 1881 Caldwell, TX George C. (G.C.) Harper, (my line) b. 1825, Duplin Co., NC, m. Louisa Putnam 1847, d. 1903, buried in Harperville, Scott Co., MS. Levi Harper, b. 1829, Bibb Co., AL, m. Sarah Jane Putnam 1869. I have a listing of their children, but no other information. George and Louisa children: Sarah J. Harper, b. 1848 Oliver Harper, b. 1850 Hiram Hinkle Harper, (my line) b. 1852, m. Mary Elizabeth Shannon, d. abt. 1824, buried Harperville, Scott Co., MS.
