Trying to find information about my great grandfather and his family from Vicksburg, Mississippi. The late Rev. John J. Morant (former pastor at Bethel A.M.E. church) died March 1961. Trying to find information on my grandmother Mary J. H. Morant and her daughter Bethel Christa Morant. Bethel married my grandfather Cleveland Matthews. I have no information on Cleveland except that he was an insurance collector and he was born in Bolivar County, apx 1902. Bethel was a school teacher. I think that John Morant was related to Asberry Ben Morant (born 14 Feb 1878) and James Jefferson Morant (born 14 Dec 1892). Rev. Morant was the author of Mississippi Minister, published in 1958. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
