    2. Hi Wanda, I look forward to having you join the group and add what you might remember about Moorhead. I have on loan, several yearbooks (1937-1940) from Sunflower Agricultural High School and Junior College. What's interesting is how many kids from neighboring towns/counties went to college there (it was a two-year college.) Some of the towns were Moorhead, Indianola, Inverness, Sunflower, Blaine, Ruleville, Drew, Greenwood, and many others. The grammar school there was called Moorhead Consolidated School. The college is now called Mississippi Delta Community College. They have an alumni association, but I'm not sure if I would be able to track down students who were there in the 1930s when my mother attended. I guess I could try writing to the college and see if they have a historian or archives or whatever. I've searched all over the net (including the Library of Congress, American Memory section) but haven't been able to find any Depression-era photos of Moorhead. The only photo I've been able to find is of the railroad crossing made famous by the phrase, "where the Southern crosses the Yellow Dog" with an accompanying history which has actually been interesting to read. 3. Peggy: There is a book "Fever, Floods, Faith ???" published by Marie Hemphill which has some Moorhead History in it. I think Marie is native of Indianola. But the Moorhead section also mentions the "Yellow Dog". She hits some hilights on all the surrounding Delta towns and villages.
