I would bet Bill O'Reilly (Fox News)could get to the bottom of this... The price increase is way too much for we retired people....You pay $27 for SS records, $25 & Up for Military records $12 for birth and death records etc..this is per relative often times. I personally think there should be no charge for public records and they should be on line for us to research. We as tax payers have already paid the wages of these employees..... Then if we choose to have a certified copy we can pay for that. (Clerk of court records are on line for much of Florida.) Locally you can only get a certified death certificate. Why do I need a certified death certificate when I only want the names of parents and places of birth...
