Rebecca: I have a Thomas Payne b 1839 in MS. He is the son of Goodman and Melinda Haleman Payne. I have nothing else on this particular Payne. My records indicate he is either the 2nd or 3rd born child of this marriage. These Payne's came from Smith Co, TN via Pickens Co, AL into Lauderdale Co, MS then into Newton Co, MS and then on into Leake, Attala and Yazoo Co, MS.
