Does anyone know of an Internet list, or, a published book, of the names, etc. of the people who are in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery (which I always thought was located in Covington County but near the city of Hattiesburg, MS). There are other large Cemeteries in or near Hattiesburg (although may be located in another county), such as Highland Park Cemetery. Is that information available anywhere? If you can help, please feel free to contact me at: [email protected] Thanks for the help. Lonnie Knight Central Florida
According to GNIS Providence Baptist Church is in Covington County near Collins. My mapping program does not show a cemetery at this location. The GNIS server shows a Providence Cemetery in in Covington County. However when I plot the coordinates on my mapping program, it is southeast of Laurel in Jones county near the community of Myrick. There is a Providence church in Forrest county on Eatonville Rd. It is near the point where the county line of Jones County and Covington County meets the Forrest county line. No cemetery is shown there either. Highland Park Cemetery is in the city limits of Hattiesburg. It's on West 7th Street north of USM. I live in rural Lamar County in the Hattiesburg Zip Code, but outside the city. Collins is a bit far to drive, but I would be glad to check out any cemetery within the Hattiesburg zipcode (39401 or 39402) Gene Phillips At 01:17 PM 3/19/04, [email protected] wrote: >Does anyone know of an Internet list, or, a published book, of the names, >etc. of >the people who are in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery (which I always >thought >was located in Covington County but near the city of Hattiesburg, MS).
