Jackie, In the 1910 Census William V. Justice is living in Coahoma County, MS. In the 1920 Census of Memphis, Shelby County, TN, there is a listing for W. V. Justice and his wife Mary. Living next door is A. B. Justice (Allen B.), his wife, Julia, and two daughters, Florence and Elvina. In the 1930 Census of Memphis, Allen B. is living with his father and mother, William V. and Mary, along with Allen's daughters, Florence and Elvira. Allen is a widower by then. No sign of a Mary as a sister to Allen Hope this helps. Dorothy
Hello, Would you please do a look-up in the 1920 census for me? William V. Justice born approx 1861 who was married to Mary E. born approx 1871. I only know the name of one of their children, Allen B. I am trying to find out if they had a daughter named Mary born approx. 1913 or so. They may have been in TN,NC or VA. I realize this is a lot to ask, but this link is SO crucial. Well, I'm really pleased to even think that this just MIGHT be the Wert Cooper you're looking for. I just remembered (yeah, I'm a little slower these days - HA!) that I have the e-mail address for a high school classmate in Clarksdale, so I wrote to her about this. Hopefully, she will get back to me and tell me if she knows Wert Cooper and whether he owns that Mag-Pie business. How did you know about that business? Sue Howard Well, I know you'll think I'm crazy, but I just called the Mag-Pie, just for the heck of it (mainly cause I wanted to talk to somebody "Southern" and this is so much fun.) Anyway, whoever answered (a lady) gave me the e-mail address (she thinks) and also she told me that Wert Cooper does own the Mag-Pie. Here's the e-mail address (hopefully it's right). Dear Amazing Sue! Well, now there is not only a letter, but an e-mail on its way to Wert Cooper! Thank you so much! I found the Mag-pie business by putting Wert's name in Google. Well, you know, I knew the minute I saw that name, William Wert Cooper, that I had heard it before. I was born and raised in Clarksdale, Mississippi, up in the Northwestern part of the state, in the heart of the Delta. Sure enough, I looked on Switchboard again, and found - lo and behold - Wert Cooper. Now, I don't know if this is the same William Wert Cooper that you're talking about, but the name Wert is unusual enough for me to think that it might be. Here's the address: Wert Cooper 723 Cypress Creek Drive Clarksdale, Mississippi (662) 624-5516 His wife is listed as Emily Cooper at the same address. Good luck. I hope this is the one you're looking for. By the way, let me know if it is. This is the fun part - I love solving mysteries! Guess that's why I'm into genealogy! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stu and Priscilla Fanning" <sfpf4@yahoo.com> To: <MISSISSIPPI-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 07, 2004 11:23 PM Subject: [MISSISSIPPI] Mitchell and Cooper families - Clarksdale, MS - 1950 > Since you folks in Mississippi are so very helpful, I will continue on > with my search for people in your state!
