No, I do not find you Lycurgus Jennings. I do find where a Mary Margaret Jennings, wife of Lycurgus Jennings born 25 October 1825 and died 6 February 1895. She is buried in the Magnolia, Ms Cemetery just a couple of miles south of Fernwood. If L F Jennings is the person you are seeking, I find his wife, Eliza E Simmons Jennings in a cemetery by this same name, Eliza Simmons Jennings Cemetery in Pike County east of Magnolia about 12 miles, born 21 January 1864 died 10 March 1913. This cemetery book states that there are several unmarked graves. Cemetery almost lost. [He could be buried here] I do have the burial of Ann Mary Jennings in the McComb, Ms Hollywood Cemetery born 1838 died 1016 Nartha Jennings born 1863 died 1945. In same plot William Henry Jennings 1878-1942. There are other tidbits but none on Lycurgus Jennings. Hope this helped even though it did not answer you need. Hello, From the 1910 census: William V. Justice lived in Coahoma County MS. In the 1920 census, he and his wife Mary lived in Memphis, TN. In the 1930 census, he, his wife ,his son Allen B. and Allen's two daughters lived in Memphis. At one time, Allen B. was married to a "Julia", I do not kow her maiden name, but I think she was born in VA. I am looking for more info on her, which is a brick wall. Also, I would love to know what happened to her daughters, Florence L.J. and Elvina. They were born in Ark approx, 1917 through 1920. I found Allen living in Baltimore in 1937, but the "trail" ends. ----- Original Message ----- From: svanwyk <s.vanwyk@verizon.net> To: <MISSISSIPPI-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, October 22, 2004 10:35 AM Subject: Re: [MISSISSIPPI] 1890 and 1900 Justice census mS > There are 2 William Justice's indexed in 1900 MS. > William age 27 b AL with wife Lou Ella and 3 daughters. > William age 25 b MS, single > > What information do you have on this couple. > > The 1890 US census was destroyed in a fire in the 1920's. > > Sandra Van Wyk > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jackie Walker" <w92656@bellsouth.net> > To: <MISSISSIPPI-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Thursday, October 21, 2004 8:46 AM > Subject: [MISSISSIPPI] 1890 and 1900 Justice census mS > > > > Hello, could anyone look up William V. and mary Justice in the 1890 and > 1900 census for Mississippi? Janice and Sue: Sometimes I am feeling Whoa is me too. Have not been too active with Genealogy as everyone knows I am in the middle of my fall quarter at college. Still the oldest guy on Campus that I can tell. I just thought I would mention that one of my courses is records keeping (meaning the proper way to set up and identify records.) If everyone did that we would have no more genealogists. But I got a few shots in for us with that class so far. Had to explain that in our research we have to go pass the name, address, and buildings (where they lived etc. including state and city and county etc. Sometimes we only have a date time frame because they all kept passing the same name on to their kids. So we have the same names at the same addresses for years... Just waving at everyone for now and letting you know I am here still doing a little bit. I do read all the posts. Dear members of the above, January of 2003 my sister-in-law passed away. Her one diversion or hobby was visiting The Pascagoula Library and working on Genealogy by taking advantage of all the wonderful resources your group has helped provide there. On her death her family was about to discard her books and magazines, etc. My mother and I asked for them and delivered them to the library as a donation. About a month ago I asked to see the collection as its been about 18 months. They said they hadn't had time to catalogue them. I hope you will keep asking till you get them. I too do genealogy but can't use that library, because I live in Jackson and am now very rarely down there. I made the donation for my sister-in-law because I knew she would want them used. By the way-- the collection was more than 11 boxes. The collection is in my sister-in-laws name-Jo Simons. Bobbie Hinman

Hello Helen, Thanks for the reply. We have never been able to find any info. on the parents and/or siblings for my g-grandfather, Rev./Dr. Jesse Lee(Leonidas?) WOOD who was reportedly b. 1839 in Duck Hill, Carroll (now Montgomery) Co., MS?. He first shows up on the 1860 Census in Dyer Co., TN at age 21 years m. to Mary ???? b. 1840 in TN. We have no idea how/when Jesse got to TN nor any info. about his family or him until he enlisted in Company I of the 7th Tenn. Cavalry Reg., U. S. Army at Huntingdon, Carroll Co., TN on Dec 27, 1863. Although my g-grandfather Jesse Lee WOOD, fought for the Union, he reportedly had three brothers (names unknown) who fought for the CSA. However, since we don't have any names, CSA units or locations, there isn't enough to go on with a name like WOOD. Since Jesse was born in MS, the brothers could have enlisted in the CSA in MS. The Surname BRAZEAL(sp?) is also supposedly in our ancestry. Below are the names of Jesse's children in the order of their birth. Perhaps they could have been named after a parent or sibling of Jesse and you may recognize a name in your WOOD/S line. Anna "Annie" WOOD (b. 1860 in TN) Nathaniel Clark WOOD (b. 1868 in TN) Charles Franklin WOOD (b. 1871 in TN) Eugene Vernon WOOD (b. 1875 in TN) Jesse L. Wood (b. 1878 in MO) Henry "Hal" Clay WOOD (b. 1880 in MO) Jessie Lee WOOD (Female) (b. 1890 in KS) Bessie M. WOOD (b. 1894 in OR) Thank you for any assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.
