Hello, If anybody is interested, I just created a new web page for Moorhead, Mississippi (Sunflower County) at Yahoo Groups. It is a friendly discussion group/message board for those researching Moorhead and their ancestors who lived there. Post your family tree, share photos, exchange information and stories about the bygone days of this little town "where the Southern crosses the Yellow Dog." The web page is at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MoorheadMississippiMemories My mom was born in Moorhead in 1922 and grew up there during the Depression. She and her family left and moved north to find work during WWII. I would like to know what life was like in Moorhead during that time frame so I started the Yahoo Group for it in hopes that some of the old time residents are still around who can tell me in words and photos! My ancestors lived in various counties in Mississippi in the early 1800s-early 1900s and even though I've never even been to Mississippi, I feel like I have because I've been lucky enough to have the stories handed down to me. I hope to keep Moorhead alive by finding other researchers who lived there or had family who lived there. Peggy Dyas Group Moderator at Yahoo Groups for MoorheadMississippiMemories Researching: Ferguson, Critz, Allein, Moore, Wood in Mississippi

Carol, Birth Certificates are only available from the Mississippi State Department of Health. State Department of Health 571 Stadium Drive P.O. Box 1700 Jackson, MS 39215-1700 The web site for the Department of Health, Vital Statistics is: http://www.msdh.state.ms.us/msdhsite/index.cfm/31,0,109,html You can find the form you will need to order by mail on this web page. You can also find a link to a service that will allow you to order by credit card (cost more). Or you can call the Dept of Health and order by phone. The state is the only source for birth certificates after November 1, 1912. Hope this is helpful. If you are or know of any one who is a PENLEY or has a PENLEY relative, PLEASE contact me. I am trying to up-date a PENLEY genealogy that has a number of PENLEY descendants in Mississippi that comes up to abt 1950's at best in some lines. This has taken some time to copy and I'm sure that I have made some mistakes, but it is for-the-most part what we have to work with. In any family, there may be some ch that are not listed and many lines are incomplete or have missing data in the 1880's - early 1900's and thus are not followed thru to later dates. Most grateful for any additions, corrections, help with any of the following families. Hi Sue have you tried the SSDI to find out where she was when she died...then try the regional newspapers in that area.. I have had great success doing it that way. Janice
Wanda: Pardon me for "butting in" but Martha Jane Parham rang-my-bell. She is the mother of my wife's grandfather. Martha Jane was first married to Warren Lamb and then to John Thomas (John Tom) Camp. Should you have information for either of these two, and, if you would be willing to share information, please contact me at: lknight609@aol.com. Thank you. Lonnie Knight

I have another favor to ask - if anybody has the 1930 census for Mississippi - specifically for Neshoba County. I'm looking for Walter I. Johnson (my father) to see if he still lived in the Philadelphia area in 1930. My brother and I are trying to find out when he moved to the Delta area of Mississippi. Thanks for any help. Sue Howard
