Greetings everyone, It was brought to my attention that I was not clear in my earlier posting on my Craddock and Baygents family lines. I found my family members in Caldwell Parish, Louisiana. Census information indicated they were from Mississippi. I've found very little supporting documentation for the years prior to 1860 in Mississippi and in Louisiana after 1880, I had hoped to connect with other researchers. It's come to my attention more Craddock researchers than just myself are experiencing difficulties and I've yet to come across a Baygents researcher :) Sorry for any confusion I may have caused and Thank You to all the individuals who've responded. Here's hoping for Happy Hunting! Lisa Collins
Hello list, I am looking for information on Monroe W. Johnson who was born 3-11-1905 and died Jan. of 1970 according to the SSDI online. I believe he may be my grandfather. I would like to talk to someone who knew him and may be able to help me to establish whether he is the correct Monroe Johnson or not. If you know someone who knew him, could you talk to them and see if they would be willing to speak with me? I would truly appreciate it. thank you, Tina Hall res00waz@gte.net Tina's Family Genealogy Page: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~thall Steve's and Tina's Home pages: http://home1.gte.net/~res00waz/ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ "If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, make it dance!" ~ George Bernard Shaw +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Hi Mary, Were Thomas and Elizabeth the children of Simon and Elizabeth? Do you have a death certificate for Thomas? His death certificate will have his mother's maiden name. For a free lookup in the Texas Death Records, go the the Texas State Library and Archives Commission web page. Scroll to the bottom of the page and e-mail your request to the TSLAC staff. They'll tell you his name (as it appears on his death certificate), when he died and where he died (the county). Their response will also tell you how to get his death certificate.
