Has anyone on the list used "Genealogy Detective" distributed by Harris Digital Publishing Group? If so, is it what it's advertised to be, in other words is it worth the money? Thanks Eveltn

I am planning a trip up to the MS Archives in Jackson and would appreciate any tips on parking, directions, where to stay and anything else which someone thinks I could benefit from. I have been to the website, but those who have been for research purposes sometimes have a different view on things. I am planning two full days and one night. Very interested in Wilkinson, Amite, Pike records and also military records from 1812, Mexican War, CW, Spanish American-particuliary the earliest 1812 and Mexican War. Thank you in advance! Thank you, it's always nice to hear from a fellow Irishman, my maiden name is Dulaney. Here are my traditional Irish Blessings I send to friends and family on St. Patrick's Day: May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, And the sunshine warm upon your face.... May love be ever in your heart, May joy be yours to share, And where ever your dreams lead you, May contentment meet you there! And here's another one, I don't know the orgin but I like it: Always remember to forget, Anger, worry and regret, Love while you've got love to give, Live, while you've got life to live. To everyone out there on the list or where may all you have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day (3/17). --- Nancy Brister <bristern@datastar.net> wrote: > Hi everybody, > RootsWeb has a great St. Patrick's Day site: > > http://www.rootsweb.com/~rwguide/notable/stpatrick.htm > > May your blessings outnumber > The shamrocks that grow.... > And may trouble avoid you, > Wherever you go. > Happy St. Patrick's Day, > Nancy Brister > Researching all of my Irish/Scottish/English ancestors: > McCormick, Carmichael, Garrett, Cain, > Dawkins, Jackson, Osborn, Garmon > (but especially the Irish on St. Patrick's > Day!) > of: North Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, > Missouri, Texas, Isle of > Lismore--Scotland > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ==== MISSISSIPPI Mailing List ==== > Visit the Mississippi-L Website at > http://www.rootsweb.com/~mississi > where you can both SUBSCRIBE and UNSUBSCRIBE with a click of the > mouse. > > ============================== > Search more than 150 million free records at RootsWeb! > http://searches.rootsweb.com/ > ===== Edye Higgins Byhalia, MS ====== Friends are angels that lift us to our feet when our wings forget how to fly. Hi Robbie, Surnames such as STORY can be difficult on the web because it is also a common English word. If you go to Obituary Central, there is a suite of tools for researching obits, cemetery inscriptions, etc. One of the tools is called the WebWide Surname Locator. This tool finds your surnames on database surname pages across the web. See if this helps. http://www.obitcentral.com Bill > I am new to the list and am searching for info on subject family names.
