What county would Bay St. Louis have been in around 1910-15?
Hello List, Will again try to butt through one of my brick walls and hope that someone new on the list, or someone who may have missed it before, will recognize the name of ESTER, Georgia A. ESTER, hiding somewhere in their tree. Georgia was born ca. 1860, as she was 19 yrs. old in an 1880 TX census. According to that same census, she and both her parents were born in Mississippi. Sometime around 1775/1776 she met and married my g-grandfather, Frank RIDENS, and had a daughter, Docia, born in 1876, in Texas. Undocumented family info is that Georgia was a full blood Native American, but that still has to be proven/disproven, and I have been unable to do that so far. In photos, my grandfather appears to have Native American features but maybe I'm just assuming?? Anyway, thank you for 'listening', and I will appreciate any info, hints, or leads which might lend direction to my search. All take care and stay safe and well. Don Hutchins Murrieta, CA.

Hello: I hope this is not out of line with this sort of question to the genealogy lists that I belong to, but it is genealogy related. I am sending this to several lists because I am doing up a very special genealogy photo montage. It is composed of my husband's Grandmother, Nannie Hubble, who was born in 1880 and her GGGranddaughter (our granddaughter, Rebeka, born in 1986). Everyone in the family has remarked how Rebeka - almost 100 years later - is the spitting image of her GGGrandmother Nannie. Soooo, I took Rebeka up and found a Gibson Girl outfit like they wore at the end of the last century, dressed Rebeka exactly like her GGGrandmother Nannie, We bought rings and a necklace as close as possible as those in the picture. Nannie's picture had a ring on her necklace, so we put one of Rebeka's GGrandmother's rings on her necklace that almost perfectly matched Nannie's. Then took Rebeka to the hair stylist and had her hair done in the same style, and we went to a photo vintage shop and had her pose just as Nannie did by a wicker chair so the poses would be identical. It is a work of art! They are almost 100 years apart in age, but it looks like they are twins. Everyone who sees the pictures says it is just too eerie. One of the pictures is of Rebeka holding and looking at the picture of her GGGrandmother Nannie. Now, my dilemma is that I want to have the proper font for the insert under each picture with names and dates that would be fitting for such a family heirloom before I have it framed at the frame shop. Can anyone out there suggest what font would look good under pictures like that? Thanks for listening & reading this far. This is just so important to me, and I want it to be perfect, since Rebeka is so interested in the finished product. Believe me, it got her interested in my favorite hobby, genealogy. She may be only 14, but this has brought her into asking all sorts of questions about all of the 12 family lines that I am researching, and not just the Hubbells. Jackie

A family reunion is schueled for this Sunday, Aug. 12th at Dixie Community Center on Elks Lake Road in Hattiesburg, Mississippi for all desendents of the Fillingame, Fillingane (or however you spell your name as it was changed many times over the years) families. Every one is invitied to attend. People usually start arriving around 9:30. Lunch is served around the noon hour, so bring a dish and come join us and meet your relatives.
That would be Harrison county which includes Biloxi & Gulfport as major cities. Or Jackson county to the east. Biloxi's east border is Ocean Springs which is in Jackson County. Other then contacting the county clerk, I don't know how you would find that marriage.
