In an 1870 census for Tippah Co. a family I was looking for was listed at "Molino Post Office" in the Southern District. Can anyone tell me where Molino was or what it might have been renamed? I just found out that in 1870 Census the Brown family was in DeSoto MS - Thomas Harris Brown and Elizabeth MarshallHamner Brown and their children Thomas Elliot, Gertrude Elizabeth (my grandmother),Ida and John Augustus Brown -- and then sometime later returned to Albemarle VA. Thomas Harris Brown was born in Albemarle Co. March 25, 1823 and married Elizabeth Marshall Hamner in Nelson Co. December 20, 1853. I believe he was part of the large family of "B" Brown's of Brown's Cove, Albemarle Co. VA but do not have any information on his parents, sibs nor his ancestors. I am very interested in any Browns in DeSoto at the same time or prior to 1870 that might be related to my family.
