I have a Jennie Walker bc. 1883 md. 1899 Lincoln Co., MS to Benjamin Larkin [my uncle who was an engineer RR. I found them in Covington Co in 1910 with daughters Louise age 8 and Annie E. age 1 2/12 b. MS. I am wondering if the Henry T. Walker family living near them in Covington County might have been her parents. I don't know who her parents were or when she died as I cannot find Jennie and the children after that. Benjamin was in Hammond, La in 1930 with wife Teresa and his obit 1941 La gives the second wife stating a 2nd marriage. It gives his children as Mrs. L. L. May and Mrs. R. L. Williams living in McComb, MS. Gladys: We ought to be able to come up with something on these folks. But calling it a night for now. I still have a lot of work to do tomorrow. College work has to get done for the month, and then watch out. Hey, I am enjoying meeting all of you. I knew setting up here was good for me. This way I will not get on all the county lists. They can come here if they want to see me right? Right. But I will get one or two folks to help us out when I can get in contact with them in MCCOMB area for look ups at the library also. SIN
Ted make the drive...I live in the State of Washington now. I have relatives who all live in Southern Mississippi now. I wish I could drive only five hours to see all of them...I know some Hendersons are in my data base. Will check it out for you and see what I come up with; SIN
Unfortunately for all of us, more folks died of disease than actually from any war wounds. Many were buried in common graves due to the number and the need to bury a number of folks quickly. However, will do my data base thing for ya and see what I can find. Who knows. Your name is TJ right??? SIN
Delighted to see your name again--re vast data base--when you have time would you look for Prather (Prater)--I have Robert b 1778 and his brother John b abt 1780--they first appear in MS in Adams CO census in 1816--both have wifes and children. I have tracked the children--Robert remarried in Jefferson CO MS in 1824 to Margaret Conn and had 4 children. I have all of that data. I am looking for some link which will help me learn who were their first wives and who were their parents. My brick wall would appreciate a quick look when you have time. Edward Hall I just read this email that says you have a Turner line. I too have Turner lineage. My great grandfather was George Henry Turner of Lafayette County Ms. Ann Devine Ann: Indeed this is one of my favorite lines...So will get with you on this real soon. My grandmother on my mother's side was a turner. She married a bailey, and of course along came my mom after a slew of others, She is still alive and out lived all her sisters and brothers to date. If you have a story about a dinner bell falling on someone and they died, that was grandma to me. SIN
Harold: I am lost on this one altogehter. Was this meant for me? SIN
Hi Gladys: Noted the info you sent. Names seem familiar to me,.and will check them out for you.Keep fingers crossed until I let ya know what I find out. SIN
Anne: Not sure about any of this. But like the way you give information. So will do some checking on this one also. You seem to have some information on this one, but are you able to get beyond this one to say his grandpa or great grandpa? You have some children, so I am presuming you have information from them forward.Need to check the latest cememtary listings on this one I think. I am sure you know a lot of research is on line to help in the cemetary area of our so-called excavations. (smile). Take it from me, I use to go to the cemetaries and photograph everyone even close to my own folks there. Now when I go, I get em all...Which can take a lot of time and effort. Nonnete: I will check this out carefully some time tomorrow. Yes I am researching White lines also. You are right he could have been killed in the Civil War. That is what really interrested me. Just get ready for all of it when it is all said and done. Like I tell everyone, the Smith lines are connected to everyone. SIN
Harry: Just wondering if you checked any land ownership here. Locate exactly on the census the plot where he was located. Find out if he owned or rented it. If owned, find out who he sold it to. If rented, see if you can identify other than farmer what kind of work he was doing, etc. and note especially any names of similar folks in your lists who lived close by. Many times daughters married right next door if you follow me. Thank you so much. I believe on the census in 1900 the Wilson firstname it looks like Grandberry wife named Mollie. According to the census Boyd Pruitt was born in May 1884 in Mississippi. The oldest brother was born in Georgia. Lucy Pruitt I believe in the same 1900 census was born alabama. William Valentine Pruitt on the 1910 panola county census says he was born in Alabama and both parents were born in georgia. he was born in 1878. I have not be able to locate any of these names either in alabama, or georgia. Thank you for your reply. I will keep digging. been at this about 15 years.
