    1. [MISSISSIPPI] For Sandra: REF: Howards Keep the Spirit of Hope Up
    2. Edward Hall
    3. Sandra: First off in doing research as you well know we reach a number of stumbling blocks as we call them. Think of your family ancesters as branches on a tree. When you started the genealogy research you were the base. Your knowledge of you and your Mom, Dad, any brothers and sisters etc. began the branches...Then from your Mom and Dad the branches forked off to Grandma and Grandpa for each of them. Mom and Dad also may have had brothers and sisters and each of them becomes another branch and the children of those Uncles and Aunts (fist Cousins) are yet other branches. Each one that married became another branch with their children so forth and so on. The reason I am saying this is that you already have learned a lot I am betting. You ar right about nick names. They are used quite a lot down South and in my family I also had to overcome this problem. It can lead to what seems are identical families. The other side of that problem is that brothers and sisters often tended to name their kids the same ways. One of my great Grandfathers had two families and each of the two families knew of the other (thank goodness for that when it comes to Genealogy research.) You have quite a bit of info on your Howard, I think something is going to give when you continue to cross reference with other branches. I have not yet given up on this one. I am going to research it further when I am out of college. So hang in there. I am keeping your info bookmarked in a Genealogy folder for further research. Do not give up hope just yet. SIN

    1. [MISSISSIPPI] "1900/Unknown County/African American LUKE EASTER and var."
    2. Karen D Rogers
    3. Thanks, I forgot to add the birth name, it is LUKE. HE is AA. I believe he might be with relatives. I just dont know the relatives. I see his father Ben Easter and Luke's son Ed Easter listed. Ed is not in Lauderdale COunty, he is in Sharkey County, MS. It is possible Luke and his own family traveled and remain "missing and lost" for 1900. My family tree is incomplete!!!!! That is terrible. Any close again. AM trying to tell me story here and when I add too much information, someone says take it off, then I add too little information. Darn, how confusing, when I was rolling it went high, not anymore. My faith in God is they will return to me under an Easter variation surnames. But for now, I think I should just quit and back it up, they are not in Lauderdale COunty for 1900 and I need a clue. This really hurts me bad. Good Bye!~~~~~ Karen

October Term 1856. Case of Mask et al v. The State of Mississippi. Pleasant M. Mask and James Mask v The State of Mississippi. Could some one please help me out with this. I live in Texas and there is not a copy that I have found here. It starts on page 406 and goes past page 420 but not sure to what page. This deals with my husbands family and would like to have a complete copy. Thank you for you help. Pam Henson

He died in 1910, his funeral was from his son Adolph Baumgartner's home at 1131 Delachaise Street, New Orleans. That's the only relative mentioned. There sure are a lot of friendly, helpful genies out there! If I never found a single soul in my own family, I feel like there's kin out there - just like you! I'm still interested in R. Baumgartner in the Confederate army in the Civil War. Got anything on that? I've printed out your suggestions and will try to find out how to do them. Ashley Baumgartner is very interesting, considering the obit took me to the map to see that Summit and McComb are next door to each other. The obit says he lived in McComb for 40 yrs. but the 1870 and 1880 censuses have him in Summit. May have merged by 1910 or the names are used interchangeably. We have some of that here in the area of Kansas where I live. Helena Baumgartner's maiden name is another puzzle. Remember she was first married to a Hakenjos. That's not her maiden name. 3. May I have a Census look up for Lucy Davis of Tate County, MS prior to 1920?? She is African Amerian. Her mother was Angie Mabry. I would like to have 1910 of Lucy Davis and spouse, I see she was a widow in 1920. Hubby should have been Anderson (L. is guess?) Davis. Karen

    3. My PC crashed and I lost 50% of my Census searches. Therefore you might see me repeating the same questions again, not trying too, but would like to regain those I lost. Please understand and be patient with me, sometimes I think God has Blessed me with wonderful friends, fellow researchers, as YOU!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for Understanding!!!! Karen
