Donald: I have a two year old copy of a document from the Library of Michigan which has on one side the Michigan Genealogical and Historical Societies contacts and on the other side a list of professional researchers by county. The closest researchers to Shiawassee Co. from that list were: 4 in Lansing (Ingham Co.): Jeffrey T Banas, e-mail www.familygenealogy.com/index.htm (this appears to be a web site) Betty Childs Klaviter, e-mail bcklaviter@attbi.com Joanne H Harvey, CGRS, (only a mailing address) Dianna L Ward, (only a mailing address) and 1 in Howell (Livingstone Co.): Karen Olszeski, e-mail klapco@peoplepc.com The contact for the Shiawassee County Genealogical Society is Mrs. Robert Couzynse, e-mail couzynse@shianet.org The Shiawassee public library in Owosso has a number of volumes of obituaries that have been extracted from the newspaper and those that have not been extracted can be searched on microfilm reels at that same location. I have had need to use professional researchers in other parts of Michigan on two occasions and have paid them more than they requested, as I felt their fees were so rediculously low, considering their need to use a vehicle to get to the search location, some payment for their time spent, and the cost of obtaining copies and mailing them back to me. Good luck in your search. Mrs. Robert (Lucille) Couzynse, e-mail couzynse@shianet.org has also done research for me in Shiawassee Co., MI (Corunna) and Lansing (state Health Dept.) and her fees are very reasonable. I highly recommend her.
