Hello Shawn, Did you check out the Shiawassee County Library surname file. There is a Emma Carlton 1858-1931 buried at Graham Cemetary. By any chance, is your Carlton family related to a William Carlton 1872-? He married a Jane Francis Rourke and lived in Troy, Oakland, Michigan and Rush/Owosso Michigan? Good luck, Kathy Shawn Sudduth <sudds_sd@yahoo.com> wrote: Hello everyone - I've just recently joined on and appreciate all the great dialogue that is shared. I am somewhat new to this work but most of my interest is directly related to Shiawassee Co. area. Several names I am looking for are FOLAND, CRAWFORD and CARLTON. For starters, I am researching the family of Isaac FOLAND b. 1829-d. 1903 who settled in the area, near Perry, in the mid to late 1800's. His wife was Ellen (Hardy) and they came to Michigan from New York. I have records from Graham Cemetery on Britton Rd. and have been able to trace the lineage to myself (I would be a ggg granddaughter). I am particularly interested in any information related to George Foland b. 1868 - d. 1927 (a son of Isaac) and his wife Verina L. CRAWFORD Foland. I am hoping to find her family line but I have no leads as to her ancestry or immediate family. I do know that she died in 1909 as a young woman after having four sons. Her husband, George Foland, remarried and i know nothing of that spouse either. The other people I am hoping to learn about are Owen CARLTON (and family) who is buried in Shiawassee Co. and died in 1968 or 69. His wife was Emma? BURNS. I have no other information regarding this person. I am grateful for any help or suggestions. Thank you. Sincerely, Shawn Sudduth ____________________________________________________________________________________ Need a quick answer? Get one in minutes from people who know.
