I do not know John SMEDLEYs parents. A county history says Lois CLARKs maiden name was SMEDLEY, but she said in a probate file that her brother was John RUTAN. And Mass is where they came from. Don't know what this means yet. Plus, there is a Samson SMEDLEY about the same age as John SMEDLEY. He lived in Vernon in 1860. Gary
