Dear List, I am speaking of John and Lucinda SMEDLEY. John was born in Mass and lived in Wood County , Ohio before he bought land in Shiawassee County, in 1835. In 1841 he helped administrate the probate of John B. Clark, his brother-in-law. In 1844, he witnessed the marriage of his sister, Lois Clark, to Alanson Horton. He and Lucinda were in the 1850 census. He died about 1857, but no probate file can be found. They had a large family. Lemuel and Levi SMEDLEY, their sons, were in the civil war. I am thinking of ordering their Pension Request files. Does anybody else already have them?????? Gary
