    2. Seeking photos or information where I may write or e-mail or anyone who might be able to scan photos of (school photos, perhaps photos from newspapers or other for Laingsburg Commercial Club, President of Laingsburg Village, member of various lodges. Ward E. KING born January 18, 1892 (died February 20, 1967 in Port Huron, Michigan) Ward attended Shiawassee county schools Married Nina Mae KEYES of Byron in 1912 Ward Everett and Nina Mae KING had one daughter Dorothy Mae (married Robert KEARNS) Elevator business for 7 years in Byron, Shiawassee County, Michigan Manager of Farmers' Elevator Company, Laingsburg Village, Shiawassee County, MI) One of the organizers of the Laingsburg Commercial club President of Laingsburg Village From the book entitled: Local history and personal sketches of St. Clair and Shiawassee counties. (which included some of the above information.) "Mr. King is one of the most enterprising young men in this county. He is known and exceptionally well liked all over the county, and has done more for the welfare and development of the county, perhaps, than any other young man in the community. He is a member of the Masons, Odd Fellows, Star Lodge and Rebekah Lodge, in all of which he enjoys a popularity and friendship surpassed by few." I believe this gentleman to be my grandfather. If anyone might have photos when daughter Dorothy Mae KING was in elementary school in Laingsburg Village; also would be much appreciate. Thank you very much Judy [email protected]

    1. KING, Ward E b 18 Jan 1892 resided in Byron Township and Lainsburg Village
    2. Is there anyone out there in this County? The main web site for Shiawassee County will not let me in and that was a beautiful web site. What happened to it? Says won't work on my server???? Need to get in touch with kin or anyone who might have photos of Mr. Ward E. KING. I believe Mr. King is the biological Father of my father. He is also listed in the Personal Sketches for Shiawassee County of Prominent Men. He worked in an elevator for 7 yrs in Byron. He and his wife Nine Mae KEYES (who was my grandmother's husband's sister) moved to Lainsburg Village; where he was Manager of the Farmers' Elevator Company. Mr. King and his wife were married in 1912. They might have only had one child, a daughter, Dorothy Mae, do not know her married name; does anyone out there know her or her kin. I have started this journey of tracing this biological father many years ago (unknown to my father who has since deceased, but have big reason to believe he already knew the name). Not something talked about with him nor with his mother who would be in complete denial. He apparently was very popular, member of many lodges, had many friends. Mr. King's personality as far as certain aspects sounds so much like my father's and my father became a physician....the only one in his family who had college education and he was the oldest. (did not know that the father he thought was his father until he was about 12 years old when his mother's youngest brother who was his Uncle (6 months younger than my father) told him. My father had a very high intellegence; just things different from his 2 siblings and did not look his "step-father" at all. Thank you so much to whomever can help me will be much appreciated. 1. Julia M. DURKEE
    2. Trisha Neal
    3. Julie M. Durkee, widow of George W. of NY, lived in Corunna about 1896. She was listed as living on State Street in the city directory. The 1900 US Census shows her living in Corunna. It's unclear if she was living as part of the household of the WELFARE family as a housekeeper. She was 71 years old at the time. Julia was born in Canada. She had a sister, Charlotte, who married Jonathan THOMPSON in Fort Erie, Welland, Ontario. They had a daughter christened in Michigan. Sorry, I don't know what her name was. Julia was the "adopted" mother of Anna E. DURKEE. Anna's birth name was Anna E. PLOSS. We're not sure if she was legally adopted or simply assumed the name. Julia next shows up living with Anna in Minneapolis in 1904. They lived in there until about 1909-1910 when they moved to Seattle, WA. About a year later they moved to Spokane where Julia died June 1911. Her body was shipped to Buffalo, NY to be interred next to her husband. I am searching for information as to why Julia may have been living in Michigan while Anna was living in MN. I would be very interested in knowing if anyone has them in their family tree. Anna E. Durkee was the controlling stockholder of the Alaska Garnet Mining & Manufacturing Co., based in Minneapolis. I have been researching the group of women for 25 years. It is very important to me to find descendants of the women. Any help would be appreciated. Trish Coos Bay, OR 97420

    1. Edward & Anna (Crandall) ROSE
    2. Trisha Neal
    3. I am searching for information on Edward & Anna ROSE. Edward was a farmer and then listed in the census as "Capitalist." I do have some basic information on both of them from the library. Edward is mentioned in the History of Shiawassee and Clinton Counties, Michigan. I also have his obituary. Information on Anna is sketchy. She was Edward's second wife. Anna died in Minneapolis, MN. She was interred in Corunna, next to Edward. There was a simply notice of death in the MN newspaper. Anna was living with her married daughter, Minnie R. Towler at the time of her death. I would be very interested in knowing if anyone has them in their family tree. Anna and Minnie were both involved in the Alaska Garnet Mining & Manufacturing Co., based in Minneapolis. I have been researching the group of women for 25 years. It is very important to me to find descendants of the women. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Trish Coos Bay, OR
