Hi Nancy, Thank you so much for your help. When I was given the obit it did not have a year on it. I tried to find her place of burial but came up empty. This obit was taken from an old family scrap book. I wonder if she ended up being buried with her first husband Robert Ross since she was married a very short time to her 2nd husband. Hello, I am trying to find obituaries for some persons who died in Shiawassee county, Michigan I have death years for all, and one the month and year Ina (Rockwell) Smedley died Feb 1957 Mable (Smedley) Weller died 1927 (born Jul 1896) Phyllis M (Reed) Hopper died 1926 (born 1905) Leona M. Hello, My name is Jim Potter and I am a new member of the List. I am researching a family of 2 or 3 brothers named Murner who lived in Michigan from abt 1862 until the late 1930's. They immigrated from Canada abt 1862. I am most interested in William H Murner (1862-1938). He is found in the following locations in Census records: 1870 - Perry, Shiawassee, MI 1880 - Perry, Shiawassee, MI 1900 - Boyne Falls, Charlevoix, Michigan 1910 - 2-Wd Sault St marie, Chippewa, Michigan 1920 - Raber, Chippewa, Michigan 1930 - Melrose, Charlevoix, Michigan He married Rose Hallock on 19 Mar 1885 and divorced her btw. 1910-1915. He married Anna McDonald in 1915. He died in 1938 in Walloon Lake, Charlevoix, MI He had a brother named George (b.1851) and I believe a brother named John (b.1848) I would be most interested in any information about their parents or other siblings. I have only sketchy, speculative information that their father was Christen Murner (b.1821 in Reichenbach, Bern, Switzerland). The speculation is that he moved with his family to Michigan abt 1862. He enlisted in the Union Army in early 1864 and died from wounds received in battle within a few months. Their mother then remarried. I am new to this mailing list and would like to submit the names I am currently researching in case there are others on this list who are also researching the same surnames: I am primarily researching the MORRIS and CUDDEBACK/CUDABACK surnames who came to Shiawassee County (primarily Shiawassee Twp. and Perry Twp.) ca 1860 from Niagara Co., NY. The MORRIS families included are brothers: Evi/Levi A.S. MORRIS (1819-1894) Samuel S. MORRIS (1820-1912) Reuben H.B. MORRIS (1826-1915) Joseph Wilson MORRIS (1839-1921) William Oscar MORRIS (1846-1916) Also, Joseph. L. MORRIS (b. ca 1840; d. ca 1887) is related to this family, although I am not exactly sure how. The CUDABACK/CUDDEBACK family are cousins of the MORRIS family. Families found in Shiawassee County include: Charles CUDDEBACK (b. ca 1815) James CUDABACK (b. ca 1781) Beardsley CUDABACK (1815-1893) I also have found connections to the surnames BROCK, CARR, DURFEE, ESCOTT, FERGUSON, HARDER, HOELMER, HOUGH, KELLOGG, VanKUREN, LEMON, LEWIS, SENFF, STEELE, STRAUCH, MAT(T)HEWS, WHITAKER.
