great story . . . I have a modern day niece who married a gentleman because his son was in her school class, needed extra one on one help . . . less than 20 years ago, so those stories are still happening!! And the reasons for them to occur is very important . . . some people are not just ignored and brushed aside as many may think!! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Burgess" <burge1sr@cmich.edu> To: <mishiawa@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 13, 2006 1:43 PM Subject: [MISHIAWA] William Burgess from the Owosso A to Z > I've got more info on this family for any who are interested, as > William is my GGF. Sorry, Carol, I do not find your Gardiners. Nancy
Yes, Janet two of your family names are mentioned. "Hinkley Burgess was b. in 1827 in Vermont. He was a dentist who was Irving in Owosso, according to the 1860 Census. His Lucy was b. in 1824 in NY State. William Burgess of 121 S. Cedar St. was a clerk at Archie Beebe's store He m. Florence Malcolm, who had graduated from Owosso HS, class of 1904. The had 4 children: Lois, Wesley, Leslie and Kenneth. In 1908 Mrs. William Burgess' aunt Miss Agnes Graham died. She is buried in the Graham Cemetery located near Laingsburg. Mrs. Florence (Malcolm) Burgess is buried in the Laingsburg Cemetery." "KETCHUM Charles Ketchum and his wife Isabelle lived on W. Mason St. in the house that became the Episcopal parish house. They owned land in what is now the Krust subdivision and they sold it to Eben F. and Anna L. Dudley in June of 1902." You must know most of these facts. Not much new probably, but glad I could find them. Nancy
