Her name would be A. Wooden Casket. It's always nice to get a chuckle while slaving away on research! 3. Shawn, You mentioned that you needed more information on George and Verina (CRAWFORD) FOLAND, but you did not mention what, so I don't know if this is helpful or not: 1900 census Woodhull Twp., Shiawassee Co., MI Roll#744, HH#54, p.349A: FOLAND, George (head) W M b. May 1868, age 32, Md 11yrs, b. MI, parents b. NY, farmer FOLAND, Vernia[sic] L. (wife) W F b. Apr 1873, age 27, Md 11yrs, 2 children/2 living, b. MI, F b. NY, M b. ENG FOLAND, Edwin A. (son) W M b. Jan 1891, 9 S, b. MI, parents b. MI, at school FOLAND, Howard C. (son) W M b. Oct 1897, 2 S b. MI, parents b. MI Based on that information, I was able to locate Verina in the 1880 census. Shawn Sudduth <sudds_sd@yahoo.com> wrote: Hello everyone - I've just recently joined on and appreciate all the great dialogue that is shared. I am somewhat new to this work but most of my interest is directly related to Shiawassee Co. area. Several names I am looking for are FOLAND, CRAWFORD and CARLTON. For starters, I am researching the family of Isaac FOLAND b. 1829-d. 1903 who settled in the area, near Perry, in the mid to late 1800's. His wife was Ellen (Hardy) and they came to Michigan from New York. I have records from Graham Cemetery on Britton Rd. and have been able to trace the lineage to myself (I would be a ggg granddaughter). I am particularly interested in any information related to George Foland b. 1868 - d. 1927 (a son of Isaac) and his wife Verina L. CRAWFORD Foland. I am hoping to find her family line but I have no leads as to her ancestry or immediate family. I do know that she died in 1909 as a young woman after having four sons. Her husband, George Foland, remarried and i know nothing of that spouse either. The other people I am hoping to learn about are Owen CARLTON (and family) who is buried in Shiawassee Co. and died in 1968 or 69. His wife was Emma? BURNS. I have no other information regarding this person. I am grateful for any help or suggestions. Thank you. 3. Dear Nancy, Thank you very much for your response. It is not the right Ella, however. I have her on a 1880 census with William T Ferris and Catherine as her mother, located in Argentine, Genesee Co. This matches with info she gave on her marriage record, parents Tom and Kate (Bedell) and her residence in Gaines, Genesee Co. I am assuming William's middle name is Thomas. Thank you anyway for the kindness of your response! Starting this hobby has improved my general opinion of people being willing to help out others. I hope as I get more proficient at this I can help others, too...Sincerely, Judy Gleason _________________________________________________________________ http://homepage.msn.com/zune?icid=hmetagline
